Is it a hardware problem or a software problem?
The truth is software problems likely lead to hardware problems.
“If it’s not a hardware problem then it must be a software problem”.
.
I can remember the first time a practitioner said that to me. It was a comment that I had to really think about at the time.
.
Now I’d go a step further and say if you have a software problem then it will likely become a hardware problem if not addressed.
.
What does that mean?
.
In the standard American medical model they mostly look for, diagnose and treat hardware problems.
.
That means they look for disruptions in the body through tests, scans and lab work to find the part of the body they should medicate or operate on.
.
If they find something in a scan or in your labs then they go to work on the hardware problem the only way they know how. They medicate or operate on an organ, joint, tissue, tumor or bone to fix the hardware!
.
If they can’t find a hardware problem then they assume it must be a software problem meaning the operation of the body is somehow diseased and dysfunctional.
A chemical imbalance or a hormone disruption or maybe just unlucky genetics. You’ve got a glitch in your operating system in other words. They prescribe a chemical to regulate it.
.
Either way the strategy is to silence the disruption, but it never really gets to the root cause of the disruption.
.
Hardware problems are usually attributed to an injury, accident, “over use” or genes. While software problems are much harder to try to explain and in this model there is very little effort put forth in trying to explain. The cause is not important, the cure is the focus.
.
Unfortunately cutting out a tumor, operating on a joint or an organ is only a temporary fix when the whole body environment is not addressed. It’s a temporary solution to what’s been a long term problem.
.
It’s rarely talked about curing the reason for the dysfunction in the first place.
.
We haven’t been taught to value walking back disease or the power in the healing journey. There is valuable information in a healing journey. Instead it’s all about fix it fast.
.
Going through a healing journey means you’ll likely never face that issue again because you know how to give your body what it needs to be well. While fix it fast strategies usually mean you’ll be fixing it again and again and may even suffer consequences from side effects of the fix it fast methods.
.
Consider that most hardware and software problems come from years of lifestyle choices. We usually have software disruptions before we have hardware disruptions. Most of the time the body has been signaling for years before a hardware problem comes up.
.
Signals of Deficiency
Collagen is a prime example, it’s a building block of health. It supports mobility, healthy hair, healthy skin, healthy tissue, healthy gut and more. Why aren’t we informed by the standard medical model that we don’t make adequate amounts of collagen as we age?
.
The production of collagen slows down as we age. Add in the fact that we are exposed to environmental factors, aren’t getting adequate nutrition and we can see software signals earlier than we should. Studies show supplementing with collagen works!

.
Not Just for Aging Either
.
In a recent interview with Dr. Lauren Kolowski I learned that ACL tears are happening in younger kids more often than they used to
https://www.uclahealth.org/news/acl-tears-in-young-athletes-at-epidemic-levels
.
Why is that? It may be explained by more exposure to chemicals that deplete collagen like glyphosate. In addition, we know our food just isn’t as nutrient rich as it used to be and our exposure to toxins is at an all time high. Increased ACL tears are a signal that our lifestyle choices are impacting us at a younger age.
.
Aging is inevitable, but the appearance of age and how we feel isn’t
We don’t like experiencing brittle hair or hair loss and that is when we want to act. Our tendency is to treat the hair. Buy a new shampoo, get a new cut or extensions when what we should be doing is addressing what’s happening inside us that’s causing the hair issue? A hair issue is only a one signal that’s cause could be effecting many processes in the body. What else could it be impacting? Joint pain. Muscle tension. Fascia. Mobility. Gut health. Skin. Nails. Inflammation.
.
At some point most of us will experience software problems. We’ve been conditioned to IGNORE these software problems because they are just part of getting older. Although aging is inevitable how we feel while we age is not. We can impact how we feel by living in prevention. That means listening to the signal and responding to the root cause.
You can start today with a few simple strategies.
.
Limit/eliminate processed foods.
Incorporate movement into your day.
Manage stress
Do a trauma check both physically and emotionally. Develop a plan to work through it.
Develop foundational supplementation program starting with collagen.
Build a relationship with a practitioner that can help guide you.
.
Your body doesn’t have to wear out.
Your genes don’t have to determine your destiny.
Our experiences have an impact on our cells.
.
There is no such thing as a silver bullet fast fix for health, but there is a foundation that can be built upon to purposefully design optimum health.
.
It begins when we begin living in prevention. Address software problems before they become hardware problems.
